Franklin UT student dies in motorcycle crash, community raises money for funeral

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A College of Tennessee pupil from Franklin died in a bike crash and his fraternity brothers have been making an attempt to raise cash for his funeral according to our NBC affiliate, WBIR.

Alex Humphey, was heading to be a junior till he died in a wreck on Thursday on Chapman Freeway. Officers in Knoxville mentioned a vehicle turned still left in entrance of Humphrey’s bike. The bike tried using to abruptly stop, but flipped, officials claimed.

When Humphrey’s close friends listened to the news, they were heartbroken.

“I was receiving a contact from his mom,” Maclain Chaney, one of Alex’s close pals explained to WBIR. “When she explained to me, I just kind of like froze and did not genuinely believe that it, and just variety of like sat there.”

Humphrey rushed Sigma Phi Epsilon and his good friends and fraternity brothers created a GoFundMe for his funeral. Within just a several days, the neighborhood and have elevated around $44,000 dollars.

“It’s remarkable, just the way that group that fraternity, the university, I necessarily mean, every person has revealed their aid,” Josh Patton, Humphrey’s fraternity brother reported to WBIR.

Family, fraternity brothers, friends, college students at UT and Greek lifestyle chapters across the place have commented on the fundraiser web page.

“Alex will under no circumstances be overlooked by any of us. And I feel it is just our job to reside by him,” Nolan Imbrecht claimed. “And every thing we do will be for Alex.”

Humphrey’s funeral was held on Tuesday.
