Late Paperwork Saved Fernando Alonso’s 7th Place Finish in Austin

A person of the most shocking moments of previous Sunday’s United States Grand Prix was when Lance Stroll’s blatant block on Alpine’s Fernando Alonso. As Alonso tried to move the Canadian down the Circuit of the Americas extensive back straight, Stroll appeared into his mirror and turned still left straight in entrance of Alonso. The pair collided. The remaining-rear tire on Stroll’s Aston Martin shredded, and he was spinning into the barrier.

Right after the race, Haas protested that the race director must have revealed Alonso the black-and-orange (or meatball) flag for continuing with harm. The black-and-orange flag has been revealed to Haas’ Kevin Magnussen earlier this season with arguably much less hurt to his vehicle.

The FIA has now overturned Alonso’s penalty just after an appeal from Alpine. The choice was not built because the stewards adjusted their minds about how weakened Alonso was. Haas experienced submitted their protest 24 minutes following the selected deadline.
