Fritz Hitchcock was a visionary and a chief in our marketplace. In picking out a buyer for the Hitchcock dealerships, what variables did you think about?

Howard: Fritz was a vehicle dealer’s motor vehicle vendor – he did not just treatment about his personal retailers, he cared about the industry, and he gave again to the marketplace that he beloved each and every day. His mission in lifetime was to make the car or truck business as excellent as it could be. He really lived the motto that the buyer will come to start with, and he also thought passionately in treating personnel perfectly. As you can visualize, choosing consumers that would keep on Fritz’s legacy of remarkable shopper and personnel service was of the utmost significance to Ted and me.

Ted: Although it would be hard to fill my dad’s sneakers in the organization, we have been satisfied to see Larry Van Tuyl, an additional legendary automobile supplier, get our Santa Barbara and Northridge Toyota stores. My father generally admired Larry and his good results in the motor vehicle business, and we felt he would be an exceptional steward of these merchants. Also, we have recognised the Kaminsky family, who obtained our Puente Hills Toyota keep, for many years. The late Bob Kaminsky was a shut mate of my dad’s and I know he would be delighted to know that Bob’s sons, Greg and Gary Kaminsky, are now the homeowners of that retail outlet.
