Crash with deer injures 2 on motorcycle

Two people today ended up hurt in a motorcycle crash involving a deer, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office environment reviews.

Cass County deputies responded to Conrad Highway south of Tiara Trail close to the intersecting township lines of Jefferson, Milton and Ontwa, for motorcycle crash involving a deer at 10:46 p.m. Wednesday, June 29.

Unexpected emergency staff arrived on scene and decided that a northbound bike with two topics on it struck a deer. Deputies figured out that the driver of the bike was Matthew Cooper, 35, of Elkhart, Indiana, and the passenger was Casandra Raley, 37, of Elkhart. Both of those Cooper and Raley were transported to South Bend Memorial medical center for injuries endured in the crash, law enforcement explained.

Neither matter was putting on a helmet at the time of the incident, police stated.

Deputies were being assisted on scene by the Ontwa Township Police Office, Howard Township Fireplace Section, and SMCAS EMS.
