When you are at the table, enjoy your meal while your napkin is placed on your lap and if you need to excuse yourself to go to the washroom, leave the napkin on your chair, but if you are done with your meal, just place the napkin on the left side of your plate on the table. Remember that after finishing the meal, do not let any part of the knife or fork rest outside the plate. While you are resting, you can place your fork and knife in an inverted V position, and after you are finished with your meal, place them together in the 10:20 position in your plate.
